Sun City Grand (The Grand) is a Del Webb master-planned community for people seeking an active retirement lifestyle. Up to 15% of the homes may be occupied by an age 45-54 owner. At least 85% of Sun City Grand (The Grand) will always be occupied by someone age 55 or older. An under age 45 occupant may live in the home with the 45+ or 55+ owner. No one under the age of 19 can permanently live in Sun City Grand.
As you enter the 45+ active retirement community of Sun City Grand (The Grand) you know you've just entered a very special place. As you drive around the community you are struck by the sweeping White Tank Mountain views and palm trees framing water features on golf fairways at every turn. Many clients comment on the open, airy feel of this community.
The beautifully designed multi-million dollar Village Center is the recreational focal point of the community. Surrounded by cascading water fountains and colorful landscaping, it features the Adobe Spa & Fitness Center, Chapparal Center, Sonoran Plaza, an outdoor amphitheater, fishing dock and artisan studios. The Adobe Spa & Fitness Center includes a heated indoor lap pool, an outdoor resort swimming and activity pool, indoor and outdoor spas, indoor walking track, fully equipped health and fitness area, a dance/exercise studio, plus tennis courts, bocce courts and putting greens.
The Cimarron Center, located among the newer neighborhoods on the west side of the community, features a fully equipped health and fitness area, a heated outdoor resort swimming pool and the Cimarron Day Spa for those days you want to be pampered.
While there are many wonderful Arizona retirement communities, there are few that offer the number of activities Sun City Grand provides. In additional to the health and wellness activities offered at the Cimarron Center and the Adobe Spa & Fitness Center, there are clubs and groups to meet every interest. Many have their own clubhouses as well, not to mention a huge number of talented members. The reason I mention this is because there are some communities where the clubs have to meet in residents homes. Many of the communities just don't have the room for the clubs to have an actual "clubhouse". This is especially important for clubs such as the Stitchers, billiards, woodworking, stained glass, painting (art studio), ceramics/pottery, computer classes, etc. You can be as active (or not) as you want.
There are 4 regulation length championship golf courses - Desert Springs, Cimarron, Granite Falls North & Granite Falls South, for the golfers, the Del E. Webb Memorial Ball Field and more than 40 active clubs. In other words, something for everyone. There are approximately 9,500 homes and about 17,600 residents. The construction on these homes took place from 1996 to 2005.
Please NOTE: The residents of Sun City Grand recently voted to change the name of the community to "The GRAND". This new name is being used in all of their print marketing as well as at entrances to the community. It has NOT changed the legal name of the subdivision or the way each property is recorded with Maricopa County. Nor does it appear, at the time of this writing, that their website name has been changed.
This has caused some confusion and I have had a resident insist I use "The Grand" and not Sun City Grand on my website. This is not going to happen. Because all of my searches on this website use the legal subdivision name you will see me use the orignal Sun City Grand name more than the new marketing name "The Grand".
